I don't know about you but I'm not sure if I want to come back.

So a few weeks ago Dean and I with baby girl in tow we went to
town to pay a few bills and to treat ourselves to dinner.
Dean wanted someplace different than the norm. I rattled off the list of out of the norm places and I all I kept getting was no, no, no. Then I said " You know
theres a Damon's just past the underpass over there. Really!? Let's go there.  So thats where we headed. Walked in and were promptly seated. The service was GREAT! I drive Dean NUTS! I'm not a cheese burger girl. I prefer chicken when we dine out. So I ordered a bbq grilled chicken breast with a baked potato and cole slaw. Unknowingly it also came with rice pilaf.
Dean had ribs and chicken tenders, baked beans and baked potato.

My reaction :
Where's the bbq sauce ? They were a little skimpy with the sauce. Chicken = dry. Baked potato perfect! Cole slaw was pretty good too, but the surprise pilaf is another story it was tasteless and just plain gross. My feelings about Damon's is they have good aspects but not enough for me to come back any time soon. I personally could cook us a better meal. And I'm not knocking the service at all. The staff there were great. They were so sweet with the baby. But then again everyone loves her. So to Damon's I say thanks but no thanks.

Dean's reaction:

As it was a special dinner out that we almost never have now, I got something special to eat. I got a half rack of ribs, crisp chicken tenders, a baked potato and baked beans. The ribs are always good, Damons has spent the last 30 years doing good ribs so I wasn't surprised. The baked potato was good as well but it's pretty hard to mess up a baked potato. The chicken tenders were also good. The menu stated that they were "lightly seasoned" and that they were. I had to salt them and re-salt them at least 4-5 times. And now we come to the beans. The beans were not so good. I believe that the chefs in the R&D department at Damons were going for a "grilled" taste, but it tasted like they were baked in straight vinegar. There were even little shredded bits of pork in the beans but that was it. It felt like a piece offering to have the bits of pork. I couldn't even taste them. I was saved however by the great service. The server we had immediately got me some applesauce and even the manager stopped by the table to get my opinion on why the beans tasted bad to me. In all, I probably should have gotten my old standby, a cheeseburger. In conclusion, Damons it's great if you want to go once a year for your Great Aunt's birthday and you don't care about the food because you aren't paying. If it's just you and your wife, pick somewhere else.
