Alladin Restaurant
So the wife and I were in Granville, Ohio yesterday. And in the course of human events, it became time for lunch and we both needed to eat. We were walking along the main drag through town and decided to go into the Aladdin Restaurant on Broadway East. My first reaction was, "Oh, great...another Greasy Spoon." Boy, was I wrong. There isn't much on the menu because they really only serve breakfast and lunch (though I did see "All you can eat Perch" from 4-8). I got a Bacon Cheeseburger and my wife got a Club Sandwich. The grill is right in the dining room and you can see just what the cook is cooking and exactly how fresh it is. And fresh is the key to the whole experience. I watched the cook take a ball of fresh (unfrozen) hamburger, put it on the grill and put a flat-iron on it. And the bacon...oh the bacon. It was cooked to order. It made you even more hungry to just sit there and smell the bacon cooking. The fries were cut fresh that morning. I have never tasted a better burger.
In conclusion...we will be back for breakfast. Reason? Because they fresh cut the veggies in their omelets....to order. Their pancakes are, literally, the size of dinner plates. The breakfast burrito is as big around as my forearm.
All in all, my first reaction was not so great...but it soon changed to that of great delight.
