I don't know about you but I'm not sure if I want to come back.

So a few weeks ago Dean and I with baby girl in tow we went to  town to pay a few bills and to treat ourselves to dinner.  Dean wanted someplace different than the norm. I rattled off the list of out of the norm places and I all I kept getting was no, no, no. Then I said " You know   theres a Damon's just past the underpass over there. Really!? Let's go there.  So thats where we headed. Walked in and were promptly seated. The service was GREAT! I drive Dean NUTS! I'm not a cheese burger girl. I prefer chicken when we dine out. So I ordered a bbq grilled chicken breast with a baked potato and cole slaw. Unknowingly it also came with rice pilaf.  Dean had ribs and chicken tenders, baked beans and baked potato.  My reaction :  Where's the bbq sauce ? They were a little skimpy with the sauce. Chicken = dry. Baked potato perfect! Cole slaw was pretty good too, but the surprise pilaf is another story it was tasteless and just plain gross. My feelings about Damon's

Spearman's Restaurant

Last night no one felt like making supper so we went out. We went to the little blip of a town Millwood,Oh to the former gas station/repair shop called Spearman's Restaurant . Don't let its former life turn you off even though you can still fill up your car there. Spearman's has been a community favorite for many, many years. It was only in recent years that my family rediscovered it . And there has been no regrets. They have a different menu for every day of the week and that is no joke. Last night I had chicken and dumplings with mashed potatoes. Dean had crab cakes and fried potatoes . Then come dessert !  A slice of pecan pie for Dean and my mother and I split a giant hot fudge brownie sundae. And my father a slice of coconut cream pie . Their most famous dessert is fresh strawberry pie which is a whole quarter of a pie piled with whipped cream. Overall Spearman's has a lasting impressions on all of us. We have and will continue the short little jont up the road to

Clean Up on isle 2 !

Is what I say after my daughter is done doing her business especially when she's wearing a Huggies diaper. I don't mind the little thing doing her business but it scares me when she's wearing a Huggies cause 99.9% of the time after she's done doing her business I have to not only change her diaper (duh) but her clothes too! I don't know if I'm the only one that feels this way about their diapers or not. But unlike their diapers I really like their wipes. They are strong, sturdy and willing to stand up to a tough task. Over all my reaction to Huggies diapers is - Save your money and buy another brand. As for the wipes I will be buying more of those once I run out of everything else. Tell me what your opinion is. What is your favorite essential for your baby and what is the worst item you ever bought for your baby.

Alladin Restaurant

So the wife and I were in Granville, Ohio yesterday. And in the course of human events, it became time for lunch and we both needed to eat. We were walking along the main drag through town and decided to go into the Aladdin Restaurant on Broadway East. My first reaction was, "Oh, great...another Greasy Spoon." Boy, was I wrong. There isn't much on the menu because they really only serve breakfast and lunch (though I did see "All you can eat Perch" from 4-8). I got a Bacon Cheeseburger and my wife got a Club Sandwich. The grill is right in the dining room and you can see just what the cook is cooking and exactly how fresh it is. And fresh is the key to the whole experience. I watched the cook take a ball of fresh (unfrozen) hamburger, put it on the grill and put a flat-iron on it. And the bacon...oh the bacon. It was cooked to order. It made you even more hungry to just sit there and smell the bacon cooking. The fries were cut fresh that morning. I have never ta

Everybody Has an Opinion....Right ?

We're a husband and wife team that are self proclaimed "foodies" .   But we're just not "foodies", we are people with opinions about nearly everything (stores, restaurants, politics, every day purchases, religion...aka EVERYTHING )   And we know you have opinions too! So here it is - If you have an opinion of a like it or dislike it of your own share it with us. . Get your friends to share the same opinion with you at least 7 times and we'll post it. And if its a restaurant or a place of business we'll go to it and  Check It Out !  - Dean and Bethany
